The CTS-IGERT weekly seminar will take place on Thursday, May 14th at 2:00 pm in SEO 1000. We are honored to have Paul Metaxatos from the Urban Transportation Center present his research. Download: Some Issues in Transportation Demand Modeling and ITS Deployment Planning Abstract for Presentation: This presentation will discuss some issues in transportation demand modeling and ITS deployment planning. Two issues in transportation demand modeling will be discussed: (a) computational requirements for origin-destination flows; and (b) data quality issues in small household travel surveys used in transportation modeling. Subsequently, the presentation will turn to discuss deployment planning considerations for paratransit computer assisted scheduling and dispatching systems. BIOGRAPHY Paul Metaxatos is a Research Assistant Professor at the Urban Transportation Center. His research interests include passenger and freight demand forecasting, intelligent transportation systems planning, transit planning. |
