Douglas Lundquist, CTS Fellow, will present a seminar entitled, "Mobility Modeling Issues in Routing Performance", on Monday, August 23rd at 4:00 p.m. in Room 1000 SEO.

Articles cited:
Naumov, V. and Gross, T., Scalability of Routing Methods in Ad Hoc Networks, Performance Evaluation, vol. 62, pp. 193-209, 2005.

Abstract:
Mobility model selection can strongly affect the performance of ad hoc routing protocols. Simple models (such as random waypoint) share some characteristics of real-world transportation systems but any results may not be extensible for ITA applications. Even in complex and realistic models, parameter value selection can have interesting effects on routing performance.

Biography:
Doug is a PhD student in the Department of Information Decision Sciences at the University of Illinois in Chicago. His primary research focus is routing protocols for mad hoc networks. His faculty advisor is Dr. Aris Ouksel, with whom he recently co-authored a paper in Wireless Networks.
