Michael Haynes Chicago Transit Authority Technology Management 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, Room 1127 SEO

Mr. Haynes will be accompanied by Chris Pable, a graduate of UIC. They will present information on several topics using transit data to improve operational support as well as the passenger experience. They will briefly present five years of bus bunching and big gap data analysis. Next we will show some innovation with real-time data to support bus operations. Finally, they will showcase an in-house web-based application called CTA Discover. The application is designed to aid customers in finding the closest CTA service and multi-modal arrival information. The CTA Discover application also powers the recently deployed bus shelter signs. Bios:Michael Haynes is a Senior Project Manager with the Chicago Transit Authority in the Technology Management Division. He has worked for the CTA for over seven years and currently manages the BusTracker, Automated Voice Annunciation and real-time location systems. He has a Master's inCivil Engineering specializing in Transportation from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.

Chris Pable is a Senior Code Developer with the Chicago Transit Authority in the Technology Management Division. He has worked for CTA for a year and a half developing various applications and network security. Chris has a BA in English (Computational Linguistics) and a BS in Computer Science with a specialization in Information Assurance from UIC.
