Dr. Stephen Chen presents a seminar Wednesday, August 22, 2012 2:00 p.m. (PLEASE NOTE TIME) Room 1127 SEO Title: "iCar Reflections - A Reality Check" Abstract: An Apple board member recently disclosed that Steve Jobs dreamed of designing a car. This would have been an extremely ambitious endeavor and one filled with challenges. In this series of talks, we will speculate on how Apple might proceed and the many design and technological issues they would encounter. In particular, we will review what consumers want, the current state of automotive engineering, and the regulatory environment. Biography: For over forty years, Stephen Chen has had the good fortune to work closely with some of the smartest, most creative, and business savvy people on the planet. And you know what? He still is. With degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and UC Berkeley, he has been on the staffs of Bell Labs (in New Jersey), AT&T, Alcatel-Lucent, Motorola, and ITW. He also is a partner in a small consulting firm specializing in Technology Strategy, Wireless Monitoring Systems, and Automotive Systems. |
