John DeLaurentiis, "Technology Programs"

John DeLaurentiis, Director of Planning for the Regional Transportation Authority, will give a talk. He will discuss results and implications of the Regional Transit ITS Program (RTIP) which serves as the basis for technology solutions that improve transit in the region, from both the operational and passenger perspectives. The RTA established RTIP as a framework for the coordinated development of new transit technologies in the region.

Bio:

John DeLaurentiis is the Director of Planning for the Regional Transportation Authority and has served in that capacity since December 1996. From 1985-1996 Mr. DeLaurentiis served as a Public Transit Programs Section Chief with the Illinois Department of Transportation. Previously, Mr. DeLaurentiis was a Project Manager with Kimball-Hill Company, a Chicago Area Housing development firm. From 1980-1983 Mr. DeLaurentiis was with the City of Chicago, Department of Housing in various capacities in the Office of Research and Development.

He serves on numerous transportation related advisory boards and committees, is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Institute of Transportation Engineers, and a director of the Midwest Chapter of ITS America.

Mr. DeLaurentiis has received numerous awards and commendations including the National Transit Institute (NTI) Distinguished Service Award. He has a BA Degree from the University of Illinois and an MPA from Governors State University.
