Kermit Wies, "CMAP's Research and Analysis Work Program"



Kermit Wies, Deputy Executive Director for Research and Analysis, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, will present a seminar.

Abstract:
CMAP's goal is to be the authoritative source for data collection, exchange, dissemination, analysis, evaluation and modeling in our region. This talk will outline how the research and analysis resources of the predecessor agencies (CATS and NIPC) were consolidated and the thinking behind establishing a new work program that is responsive to the region's current planning agenda.

Bio:
Kermit Wies is with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning where he serves as Deputy Executive Director for Research and Analysis. Kermit has over 20 years experience in urban systems modeling and planning and is the principal author of the 2030 Regional Transportation Plan for the Chicago metro area. Presently, Kermit is the project manager for the Chicago regional household travel and activity inventory which involves detailed interviewing and tracking travel of over 10,000 households. Kermit has overall responsibility for CMAP's analysis and evaluation work program in support of developing the Chicago region's 2040 comprehensive land use and transportation plan.
